Welcome to Karen Joy Artworks

I am Karen Joy Greenberger and I am working out of my studio located at 2 Central St. in Framingham, MA -  Mill One, Building #1. 

I began creating during a long period of illness. What began as a personal outlet soon felt like a necessity. I began creating  jewelry for myself, then for friends, and seeing others wear my pieces filled me with joy. Over time, I expanded into painting, mixed media, and hand-crafted cards. I have a love affair with wire, every piece of jewelry is like a creative puzzle to be shaped until the design is right. Often, I include wire in my mixed media paintings on canvas. 

Art has helped teach me to embrace the mistakes of the unintended.  While painting, I often enjoy adding to and accentuating the unintended. There is beauty in the layers and imperfections of life, in our stories and in the handmade. Why cover it up when art isn’t about perfection; it’s about embracing both the pain and the happiness of life. Letting go of perfections and fears we can surely learn to live more creatively and to grow. Art is a way to connect with others and invite others to do the same.

With a background and education in Human Services, giving back to the community is important to me. Beaumont Productions canine card line, 20% of purchase is donated to a local rescue. I plan to hold small intimate art gatherings in my art space where people can create and relax with my canine companion.
