Welcome to Karen Joy Artworks!
Every item you see here is handcrafted by me with care—whether it’s jewelry, mixed media or a greeting card. Enjoy!
About Me
I began creating art during a long period of illness. What started as a personal outlet soon felt like necessity. I began making jewelry for myself, then for friends, and seeing others wear my designs brought me much joy. Over time, I expanded into painting, mixed media and handmade greeting cards. I have a particular love for wire—each piece feels like a creative puzzle waiting to be shaped. You will often find wire woven into my jewelry and mixed media paintings on canvas.
Art Philosophy
Through Karen Joy Artworks, I explore beauty and imperfection in my paintings and mixed media. Art has helped teach me to embrace the mistakes of the unintended. While painting, I often enjoy accentuating and texturing mistakes. There is beauty in the layers and imperfections of life, in our stories and in the handmade. Why cover it up when art isn’t about perfection; it’s about embracing both the pain and the happiness of life. Letting go of perfections and fears we can surely learn to live more creatively and to grow. Art is a way to connect with others and invite others to do the same.
Offerings
I offer handcrafted greeting cards, jewelry designs, mixed media art and paintings. My cards range from still life and holiday designs to playful collages, many of which come with a backstory. I use earth-conscious materials whenever possible. A portion of proceeds from my Beaumont Productions Canine Card Line supports local animal rescues.
About My Jewelry Designs
I create one-of-a-kind jewelry with a distinctive, independent style—pieces that often stand apart from mainstream trends. My necklaces, earrings, and pins are crafted with: semiprecious stones and gemstones, mixed metal wire, eclectic and repurposed materials to create bold one of a kind statement pieces to small pendant designs.
Community Connection
With a background in Human Services, I’m committed to using art as a way to give back. I plan to host small, welcoming art gatherings where people can create and unwind in a cozy setting—often with my mellow rescue dog by their side
